Known in Romania as sarmale, in Turkey as sarmak, and also present in the gastronomic traditions of Azerbaijan and Iraq, this dish crosses borders and cultures, becoming part of the culinary heritage of the Balkans. Regardless of its interpretation, it maintains a unique identity—an enveloping texture, a balance between freshness and intensity, tradition and memory. This is my reinvented version, designed to elevate and maximize the Mediterranean flavor, respecting its origins but adding personality.
